Thanksgiving

1 Corinthians 1:4-5
I always thank God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus.  For in him you have been enriched in every way--in all your speaking and in all your knowledge..

It is Friday today, the end of the working week for the majority of you! We would like to thank God for the health and strength he has granted you and for the job you have and even for the ability to look for a job. Think of it, how many are languishing in hospital beds even with little money to get them treated. Think of those who have lost their lives this week. Think of our brothers and sisters in the armed forces facing life and death at the front line, especially in South Sudan at the moment.

PRAYER
Father here we are again thanking you for another day and another week and even another month. We praise you and exalt your name. There is none like you, we give you praise and glorify your name. That is why we can say - If you Lord had not been on our side, when the enemy rose up against us, we would have been swallowed up quickly, the waters would have overwhelmed us and the stream gone over our soul. Blessed is your name Jesus, who has not allowed us to be as prey! We can say our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers, the snare is broken, and we are escaped. Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth. Thank you Lord for your help and blessing. I love you!
AMEN

QUOTES
Not what we say about our blessings, but how we use them, is the true measure of our thanksgiving.― W.T. Purkiser

“I am grateful for what I am and have. My thanksgiving is perpetual. It is surprising how contented one can be with nothing definite - only a sense of existence. Well, anything for variety. I am ready to try this for the next ten thousand years, and exhaust it. How sweet to think of! my extremities well charred, and my intellectual part too, so that there is no danger of worm or rot for a long while. My breath is sweet to me. O how I laugh when I think of my vague indefinite riches. No run on my bank can drain it, for my wealth is not possession but enjoyment.”  ― Henry David Thoreau

Prayer Against the Spirit Confusion

No weapon that has been made to be used against you will succeed. You will have an answer for anyone who accuses you. This is the inheritance of the LORD's servants. Their victory comes from me," declares the LORD. - Isaiah 54:17

Confusion is a weapon of Satan used to bring paralysis. Though opportunities abound you find that confusion sowed in the minds of people cause them to fail take advantage of the opportunity. That is why many undeveloped nations suffer because the leaders have been injected with the spirit of confusion by the devil. The children of Israel wandered and perished in the wilderness (Numbers 32:13) because of confusion which led to unbelief. Some wanted to go back to Egypt! In their minds they still harboured Egypt which led to confusion as they sought other means of survival and others even worshipped idols and in the cause died and failed to reach their promised land. As the confusion ensued some leaders even rebelled against Moses the chosen leader (Numbers 16:1-2) and this still happens to day right from countries to the smallest of organisations. When seeds of confusion are sown they come in as rumours and soon graduate to accusations and finally chaos and destruction.

The devil knows that if he can paralyse the leader of a nation through confusion, he can then paralyse the whole nation because the leader will be making poor irrational decisions which end up affecting the citizens that is why you see some nations on earth are in perpetual poverty despite the abundance of resources and their citizens have to leave and work almost as slaves in foreign lands whilst the leaders enrich themselves – this is not normal! It is the spirit of confusion at work. Have you ever wondered why many leaders start well then gradually become dictators and even tyrants? I can assure you that there is a power above them that is causing them to behave that way. Therefore it is of paramount importance that we pray seriously for our leaders as the decisions they make eventually affect you whether you realise it or not.

PRAYER

Father we especially lift our leaders up to you, give them ears to hear and eyes to see you. Give them hearts to follow you and courage to resist the schemes and agents of the devil. Let them realise that you possess all power in heaven and earth and there is nothing too difficult for you. Just as you save the Israelites against the mightiest army at that time, let our leaders also realise that you are the true super power and utterly dependable. We rebuke any principalities that are injecting confusion in the hearts of our leaders causing them to hear the devil’s voice, we cancel their works in the name of Jesus, and we bind them and cause them to be powerless. Father grant us godly leaders, leaders who seek you, leaders who after seeking you will obey you practically! We remove any negative influence and anti-God thoughts that are threatening to envelope them! For the leaders who are in the wrong place please move them to their designated places of authority, for those who are obstacles to peace we cast them aside in Jesus name. God we need you to move the mountain of confusion fight now and save our land. We thank you for answered prayer and praise you for your faithfulness!
Amen

WORDS OF WISDOM

PRAYER is the answer to every problem in life. It puts us in tune with divine wisdom which knows how to adjust everything perfectly. So often we do not pray in certain situations, because from our standpoint the outlook is hopeless. But, nothing is impossible with God. Nothing is so entangled that it cannot be remedied; no human relationship is to strained for God to bring about reconciliation and understanding.

No habit so deep rooted that it cannot be overcome; no one is so weak that he cannot be strong; no one is so ill that he cannot be healed. No mind is so dull that it cannot be made brilliant. Whatever we need if we trust God He will supply it. If anything is causing worry or anxiety, let us stop rehearsing the difficulty and trust God for healing, love and strength. - Ellen G. White Oct. 7, 1865

Prayer against the spirit of confusion

1 Corinthians 14:33  For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints. (here, the term peace can also be translated to mean a quiet and restful mind, not troubled by confusion or doubt).
Psalms 35:4
Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt.

When the leaders who are the head of the country become confused or show signs of confusion by contradicting each other (http://www.redpepper.co.ug/m7-cdf-clash-over-s-sudan-war/) you know that the spirit of confusion is at work and since the head is confused so will the body be and act in confusion as well.

PRAYER
Father! In the name of Jesus, we rebuke the spirit of confusion that is visiting our land especially the leaders. We bind the spirit of confusion and cause it to fail in the name of Jesus because you said in your word that whatever we bind on earth is bound in heaven. We also loose the spirit of clarity and order in the name of Jesus. We now know that you God are not the author of confusion but Satan is the father of confusion therefore we stop his works in the name of Jesus. Father I pray for that student who is confused and is struggling to understand, I loose the spirit of understanding and excellence. I pray for that employee who is having difficulty with the task at hand, give him wisdom and strength, like Joseph in the bible, grant him favour with the employer. I rebuke that spirit of fear inviting confusion in the reader’s soul, I speak comfort and grace to you I speak victory. I pray for that leader who is confused and does not know what next to do. I pray for that Member of Parliament who is facing hopelessness and confusion, give them grace and courage to bring order to their community. Give our MPs courage, integrity and vision to guide the country. We cast out any agent of confusion from entering the corridors of power and parliament in the name of Jesus

God! Any spirit of confusion that has taken over our leaders’ minds we rebuke that in the name of Jesus for we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world. Jesus according to your word, you have given us power over all the power of the enemy therefore we cast out that spirit of confusion in the name of Jesus. God grant confidence to the reader, I remove any invisible blindness brought about by this spirit of confusion, I command vision and wisdom in them in the name of Jesus. I thank you because you always answer our prayers according to your word, we praise you and bless your name in Jesus name, I speak peace to you right now! Amen!

QUOTES
In our deepest moments of struggle, frustration, fear, and confusion, we are being called upon to reach in and touch our hearts. Then, we will know what to do, what to say, how to be. What is right is always in our deepest heart of hearts. It is from the deepest part of our hearts that we are capable of reaching out and touching another human being. It is, after all, one heart touching another heart.

Prayer For You!

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

Father Lord, I pray for the person reading this prayer! I pray he will be blessed and be a blessing to someone.  I pray that you will quicken their hearts to seek you and fall in love with you. I pray that you will open their eyes so that they may know that "they that are with them are more than they that are against him". I pray that you will make this person realise the immense power and privilege that prayer offers and that they will use it more and more to their advantage and even to the advantage of human kind to deliver humans from the shackles of satan. Give them hope, love and courage to have faith this day! I thank you for hearing their prayers and granting their request in Jesus name I pray and everybody say Amen.
Thank you and God bless you!

Jim Cymbala – “The devil is not terribly frightened of our human efforts and credentials. But he knows his kingdom will be damaged when we begin to lift up our hearts to God.”  [Jim Cymbala, in Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire]

John Wesley said, “It seems God is limited by our prayer life – that He can do nothing for humanity unless someone ask Him.”
