Corinthians 1:4-5
I always thank God for you because of his
grace given you in Christ Jesus. For in
him you have been enriched in every way--in all your speaking and in all your
knowledge..
It is Friday today, the end of the working
week for the majority of you! We would like to thank God for the health and
strength he has granted you and for the job you have and even for the ability
to look for a job. Think of it, how many are languishing in hospital beds even
with little money to get them treated. Think of those who have lost their lives
this week. Think of our brothers and sisters in the armed forces facing life
and death at the front line, especially in South Sudan at the moment.
PRAYER
Father here we are again thanking you for
another day and another week and even another month. We praise you and exalt
your name. There is none like you, we give you praise and glorify your name.
That is why we can say - If you Lord had not been on our side, when the enemy rose
up against us, we would have been swallowed up quickly, the waters would have overwhelmed
us and the stream gone over our soul. Blessed is your name Jesus, who has not allowed
us to be as prey! We can say our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of
the fowlers, the snare is broken, and we are escaped. Our help is in the name
of the Lord, who made heaven and earth. Thank you Lord for your help and
blessing. I love you!
AMEN
QUOTES
Not what we say about our blessings, but
how we use them, is the true measure of our thanksgiving.― W.T. Purkiser
“I am grateful for what I am and have. My
thanksgiving is perpetual. It is surprising how contented one can be with
nothing definite - only a sense of existence. Well, anything for variety. I am
ready to try this for the next ten thousand years, and exhaust it. How sweet to
think of! my extremities well charred, and my intellectual part too, so that
there is no danger of worm or rot for a long while. My breath is sweet to me. O
how I laugh when I think of my vague indefinite riches. No run on my bank can
drain it, for my wealth is not possession but enjoyment.” ― Henry
David Thoreau
